It all starts with an idea…
There is something very beautifully liberating that comes with age. You begin to realize time is precious. The dreams you once tucked away for “someday” suddenly feel more urgent. For me, the longing to tap into my creative side has always been there. I would feel a gentle nudge when I found myself at a crossroads, deciding what would come next.
The idea for The Gathered Room came to me when I was searching for a meaningful way to share my love for design, nature, interior spaces, and storytelling. I first considered creating digital products: journals, printable art, or maybe home accessories. I saw others were succeeding in those spaces, and I knew I had the tools to make it work. But…what else could I create to build out this idea?
And then this idea quietly crept into my head. What if I combined my love of words, interior space, nature and design and not only created digital products, but also wrote something meaningful? Something that would touch others. A book perhaps? A journal? Not just one, but maybe a collection of books? I loved the feeling of the word “Gathered” and kept coming back to it. It felt authentic, tender, meaningful. Soon other titles began to form: The Gathered Table, The Gathered Self, The Gathered Garden.
Would these reflective guides resonate with readers the way they did with me? What would they look like? How can I bring them to life?
I wanted to dream big dreams but remain realistic. You only get one shot at this life. And while I am still figuring out exactly where this path will take me, I can honestly say, I haven’t felt this certain about something in a very long time.
Writing a book can be daunting. But it just feels like home.
I hope when you hold it in your hands one day, you will agree.
